springs

hi. i am gona put 4 new springs in my 1980 fairmont wagon. what i want to know is can i make my own lowering kit by cutting 1 coil off each spring for each corner? has anyone done this and did it work. i put on wider tires and i am also putting a bigger front sway bar with urethane bushings and adding a rear sway bar where it doesn't have one. i also will be putting better shocks on probably konis or billsteins. any thoughts on this will be helpful. thank you mike

You can lower that way but be careful how much you cut off. I think it's one coil per 2 inch lowered but not 100% sure.
