I'm putting Superlift's 85151 shocks on my 97 Explorer and have a dumb, purely cosmetic, question. The bar pin came already installed on the extension side of the shock which mounts to the cross member leaving the body of the shock down low. This is how I see other shocks installed in the pictures as well. I was curious if the shock would function properly if I put it the other way, that way the boots would be down low. They are hydraulic shocks so I assume the orientation of the shock matters, but I'm not sure.

Not sure but I think they would function both ways. I would check with Super Lift though just to make sure.
