Check Out my 1998 Explorer shake

So I always had an issue with growling when steering since 2002 when we bought this. This is the first time having the wheels off the ground and turning the wheel with the engine running. And no an earth quake is not going on.

You will hear rattling, this is the start of the small shakes and then it goes in to full blown shaking where the whole vehicle shook to the point where it vibrated my camera.

That's probably air in the system. You may have a seal going bad on the rack or pump that isn't leaking but will allow air to be sucked in when it cools down. Flush the system out really well, vacuum the pump while running to extract the air till it stops chattering. Drive it around to see if the chatter comes back. If not park it and let it cool completely and try again. If the chatter has returned you need to find the bad seal.

I also get a growling noise when turning, been doing this since 2002.

Yeah I have zero leaks and never added any fluid since 2002.
