Keep your Washer Fluid from Freezing
Add 16oz of Isopropyl Alcohol to 1 gallon of Windshield Washer fluid, this keeps it from freezing. Do this around 1 month before it starts freezing outside and keep adding this every time you fill up all Winter long.
I use an empty gallon and fill it 1/2 way so I have 2 gallons that are 1/2 full and then add 1/2 bottle of Isopropyl Alcohol to each 1/2 gallon.

Oh I forgot to say sometimes it smells like booze outside the car or when you squirt the windows, I think it depends on the fluid you buy cause I dont get this smell all the time.
This modification is really best for vehicles with rear window washers.
My 1998 Explorer and Windstar used to freeze up all the time, since I do this every Winter I have had zero issues!

I have had the cheap blue stuff freeze on me, but of the dozens I've used over the years, that is a rare occurance, and for the most part, I don't think that they protect to the advertised temperature.
My daughter on the other hand likes to use the RainX line of products, yeah they are double the price but it has never frozen on her.
Rain-X®: De-Icer Windshield Washer Fluid
They advertise that their de-Icer protects to -25 F.

Hey Mark V You are buying washer fluid then your Isopropyl Alcohol may ask why you won't just buy washer fluid with it in it already for like 2 dollars a gallon? and it is good for -40....

It is cheaper to do it this way when you get the stuff on sale, plus I like the smell.
It never gets -40 here where I live.
