Has anyone used nu finish? I don’t even pretend to try and have a show car finish. My car gets washed once every three months if it’s lucky. In my defense it does get rinsed every time it rains. Just looking for an easy wax/polish that will make the car feel better without spending $20 and it only lasts 2 weeks.

i personally use Meguiar products.

i think i used nu finish once about 30 years ago in high school.

I've seen it on tv, never had a ride nice enough to bother trying it out.

Nu finish is ok.... but you have to spend a few hours fine detailing any major scratches, blemishes, etc. assuming you're talking about the "once a year car polish".

the scratch Dr. (also by NU-Finish) is decent.

I, however, use Adam's polishes. they're expensive as all hell... but are water based and tend to last longer.

but thats MY own personal opinion.

Meguiars, Mothers, and Turtle Wax are so far the "ok" ones.

I use the New Finish scratch remover but that's it. For everything else it's Mothers. I have the show wax and I also use the detail stuff. Once you get a good base wax job on it the detail wax is very fast and does a great job.

I was never a big fan of the Nu Finish. I use to do a lot of auto detailing and used many other brands that worked better for the same money. Also, really depends on how bad the damage is to your cars finish. There right product will do you much better and faster. There is a lot of great products out there and everyone has their favorites......pick the one that works for you.

I have a few minor clear coat scratches to work on first then I am going to try the maguiars NXT. Thanks for the advice.

I used Nu Finish only because I got it free at a car show. As for once a year, I don't think so. I've tried it twice already and it won't be a year until the end of next month.

Color has a big thing to do with it as well.

if its Black, Midnight Blue, etc.... you may have to use something else.

I think Meguiars has something called a "Black Box". (or Mothers? im not sure).

its like $20 and i know some people have used it... they say it works.

Liquid Glass IN THE GOLD CAN ..Is about the BEST product on the market . Goes ON easy comes OFF easy... I have used it for about 10 years .. Bugs and Road dirt don't stick when washing it ..The only down fall is that you have to use a soap the will not strip polish... Like DISH SOAP...

Meguiar's products (Mirror Glaze, Gold Glass, NXT) only here for detailing. I do have some Wizards products that I'll use on occasion that I got from a body shop if I'm low on Meguiars.

It's been a long time since I used Nu-Finish and that's only because I was in high school and that's what dad had in the garage.

Come to think of it, I used to wax Dad's Pete with nu finish and he liked it because the hood didn't glare like a good wax. It just didn't shine like the old turtle did, but did last a while longer. Rich

I like Showtime! I use it on the motorcycle to, and have never had an issue with it. I tried Meguiar's but it always left some kind of film on the bike.

i spent a lot of time in the body shop polishing cars and i tried a lot of different polishes and "waxes" in this time i trained others to polish cars and i found that is all personal preference two people can use the same product on the same car and get completely different results, as hard as that sounds its true, if i were u id go with a "long lasting wax" thats easy to apply and readily avaliable. if u dont like waxing your car too often use cleaners that are less hard on your car like others said dish soap works well. actually thats all i use when i wash my car. another good option is to get a professional to polish your car, that way u get all the scratches out and u also get a good base waxing. then all u need to do is keep the shine up with the quick wax products

At the recommendation of my local paint shop I have been using this product for five years. I went through the process of trying products from the high end to the low side and NuFinish does what I need it to do. From my 76 pickup to an Excursion and all makes in between. I have even used it to remove over spray from a rattle can. It won't however remove tree sap from an Oldsmobile that sat too long in one place, claybar was the ticket for that job. I have found that is will not remove the swirl marks in the black paint and it does not last a year as claimed, at least not on the vehicles that sit outside. I even polish the windows with this product.

If you want a good long lasting wax use johnson hard floor wax. Do your car with a good cleaner/polish then a quick cold water rinse and dry then apply. It is hard work though. I ordered a porter cable 7424x something orbital thingy and am going to try it as I have sever arthritis in my hands, elbows and shoulders and can't do the hard floor wax by hand any more. When I get it and the temp here drops a little I'll post back and let you know how it went.
