Matching torque converter stall speed/gear ratio/cam

Hey guys, is there a website that does the mathematical calculations to tell you what the differential gear ratio and cam specs should be for a given stall speed?
I have a 78 Fairmont with a internally stock, '77 460 with headers & a built C4. The place I bought the tranny from didn't tell me that J. Bell Bellhousing only accepts a 10" converter, so I wound up with a 2,200 stall converter; wanted 1,700-1,800. Anyway, this thing slips way too much around town and makes the car feel sluggish in general, unless I floor it. It has a 3.08 gear with 27" tires. I'd like to install Edelbrock alum heads and a performance, muscle car sounding cam next year.
