replacing pass power window drive cable
The cable has has come off the drive assembly. I have the interior door panel removed & all the screws that hold the steel liner, but it (steel liner) will not come off. It appears I have to drill out rivits to release the steel liner to get access to the window. Is this correct?

Yeah what you are working on would help but you can not replace the cable. You have to replace the entire regulator and motor assembly.

most of the metal inner door panels have bolts and what looks like rivits but they are there to hold the inner door panel in place for assembly. You should be able to move the panel to release it. more info to be able to help further like was stated by the other guys

2007 fusion, sorry I didn't mention that. I got it out, (the regulator), and yes it is rivited in place, 2 on right side of the rails and three on the left side, one for the frame rail and 2 on a bracket to the frame rail. The cable jumped and fryed itself so it needs replacing. And like was said it is a one piece assembly, I haven't bought it yet but started looking a little, looks to be around $85. I do have a local junk yard that I was going to check. I suppose if you can see a used one it would be pretty simple to check out it's condidtion.
