Where's all the van owners?
I know that vans have fallen in popularity, but no new posts in almost a month?
How's everyone's van holding out this winter? Mine got pressed into regular service a couple of weeks ago, so I've been busy doing all the little repair items that I've been putting off until spring. So far I've replaced the water pump and adjusted the headlights.
Items still left on my list (probably will get parts when taxes come in) is to replace the alternator (bearings going out) and new headlight adjusters on the vertical adjustment.
Hang in there everyone! Spring will be here before we know it.

I have three of these E250 vans, none of which run. Have a fresh rebuilt 4.9 in one and have been posting under engine section for quite a while trying to shoot the bug. So far have changed every sensor, ECU, fuel stuff, run every test I can think of and still runs as if hitting on 3 or 4 and fouls plugs within a few minutes. Want to buy some vans cheap?

Hi folks, got an 02 Windstar, working like a charm, no issues really, bought it in July with 160,000 kms on it and 188,000 now. Never thought I'd own a Ford, but hey I'm really happy with it. Only thing I'd complain about is the gas milage, shes a bit thirsty if I drive it over 100kmh, I know thats the speed limit LOL

I'm averaging 13 mpg on winter gas in hilly terrain. If I could keep my foot out of it I might pick up a mpg or so, but ten cylinders are oh so much fun!

I get about 16 in highway driving. Don't want to track what I get in the city. I'm about to replace ball joints, and the differential gasket. Sounds like a fun time to me.

I've managed to creep into the 14s this week. Summer gas must be working its way into the pumps.

I just overhauled the top end of my 351w, due to the thermostat housing bolts snapping. ( studs with nuts now lol ) put a 95f thermostat in and now getting 18 mpg. English fuel prices being £1.36p per litre = $9.71 per gallon. But who would give a good Ford up eh. I enjoy it.

Hey Grems4ever,
There are some of us still out here bleeding from the high prices of fuel and driving our vans daily. My 08 5.4 gets about maybe 14.4 on the hi-way and 13 to 13.5 around town depending on my mood.
I have the 5.4 in my van and I like the power and as I am in a wheelchair it fits my lifestyle better than a Honda somethingoranother. I almost bought a small van for my mobility but because there wasn't enough room for me passengers and any cargo I went with the E-150 with the 8500 GVWR and the 5.4. I love it but I do wish the mileage was better.

Bleeding is an understatement - its more like hemorrhaging. Drove the van for the first time in 3 weeks this morning and it just fired up and went.
