Black trim outside drivers side window pulling up
I have a 2010 Escape Limited. After a few months of owning it, the trim on the outside of the drivers side window started pulling up. To the point you could easily see the adhesive. The dealership replaced it and it was fine for a few months. It started pulling again recently and the dealership took a look. I guess they pushed it down and said it was normal?
It is starting again and I am curious if anyone has seen this before.
Thanks
Teddy

I noticed this as well on mine. I usually roll down the window and press on it to flatten it out. Yesterday while washing it I really noticed it more than normal. Again pushed it back down. Next oil change I will mention it to the dealer.

I am glad it is not just mine. Any idea when your escape was built? I think mine was sometime in March 2010.
Thanks

I've noticed this on my rear doors, both sides. The center sorta arches up a bit, though no to the extent yours moved. I pressed them back down, and they havent moved.

Hi Millstone.
Just curious what year Escape you have and do you have a copy of the TSB?
Thanks

Never seen a TSB about cosmetic problems other than peeling chrome paint on plastic parts.

No mine appears to be getting worse. It is bowing upward and the space underneath is getting larger. I tried to push it down but now it seems as though it won't go back. The other 3 windows are fine. I am going to swing by the dealer after work to show them and have them order a replacement. If they have it in stock already, I will schedule a drop off time.
I wonder what is involved with replacing that piece. I looks like the mirror "triangle" and the rear sill section goes over that seal. It looks llike those parts come off in oder to get to the seal/wiper part. I want this thing fixed before winter arrives.

Some Pictures:
You can see the rubber bending up:
The rubber is also getting narrower:
The felt part you can see the pieces that have come off. Also a good representation on how high the seal has come up:

I am having the same problem with the rubber trim arching in the middle of both of the front windows of my 2010 Escape XLT. On the drive side the tinting on the window has been scratched I believe from the rubber pushing in on the the felt strip. I stopped by the dealer and showed it to a Service Rep. and of course he blamed it on the vent shades I recently installed, stating the shades may have to come off. I told him I had just put the shades on the Escape and he just looked at me. Anyway I have an appointment to take it in this Friday and will see what they say. Up front I am not very optimistic about them doing anything about it.

I am optimistic. I have bumper to bumper warranty paperwork to be optimistic about. It is a defective part. Let us know how you make out. I am stopping by on Saturday.

Looks like (from the picture anyway) that your window fuzzies are starting to come apart as well. I started another thread on that.

Yep there are 2 issues. The felt material that directly butts against the window is breaking apart and coming off in little pieces. The rubber part is pulling up and in. Either way it is getting fixed. The passenger side only has a small piece missing on the felt. Rear doors are both fine for both issues.

Haven't had this issue yet, but I'll keep an eye on it!
I have noticed that the door seal on the L-R door at the top is not as even as the rest, and you can see it poking out the door gap a bit at the top.

Just returned from the Ford dealer and the verdict was the black rubber window trim needed to be replace on both front doors and also the driver side window where it appears the rubber molding pushed the felt strip against the window causing scratches. All items covered under the 3/36 warranty. Parts on order.
