Litigation inquiry on Ford 6F35 transmissions

Follow link below for info . It sounds like there may very well be litigation coming on the 2009 and 2010 Escape transmission . I would suggest anyone with issues visit the link . It doesn't mention the flat tow issues , only the shifting issues . I would think they would be interested to hear about the flat tow problems as well since the Escape was advertised to be " flat tow-able " You can leave your contact info and description of problems for them to receive any updates on the potential litigation .

I for one hope this turns into the same sort of deal that happend to VW/Audi with the 1.8t engine issue. In that case, VW/Audi extended the warranty to 8 years - regardless of mileage - for engine sludge.

I had a leak in the 1st 5,000 miles of my 2010 XLT and they replaced the seals. No leaking since then and the transmission has been reflashed per the latest TSB and customer notification.

I don't have any flare issues, but once in a while I get the R-D "thud" and I had to even get out of the vehicle to make sure I didn't back into something. It has happened about 4 times in a year and a half. 2 were from P-R and 2 were from R-D. I always go easy with the shifting and make sure the transmission is fully in gear before accelerating. Even then it happens once every 3 months on average.

I have had my 2010 XLT for 10 months, only put on 3,666 miles. Didn't notice any problems but when I got the XLT I paid extra for the extended warranty for 100,000 miles.

If they extended the warranty they should prorate or extended my purchased warranty contract!

OMG I think I'm going to be sick! After processing a suite against Chrysler/Jeep for faulty window regulators on my 06 Liberty they agreed to buy it back (California Lemon Law). With check in hand I narrowed my look for a new tow vehicle(recreational towing) to a 2011 Escape 4x4. I haven't signed the papers yet so I can back out. From what I have read here it looks like the Escape is NOT a good vehicle as a toad.
What do you folks know about the 2011 transmission? Advice.

Uses the same 6F35 but there was talk but maybe a rumor that a baffle was added to cure the flat towing issue. There was a report of a transmission burnout after flat towing on one that should have had this baffle. So, wether it's fixed or not isn't really known. Try some RV sites as they may have more current info on this issue.

Is anyone else having problems getting directly into the Escape Forum? I can get to the other forums fine but if I click on the Escape Forum, all I get is a black square at the upper left corner of my monitor.

Something got corrupted in my temp files or browsing history; cleared both and it's working fine again.

I replied to them soon after it was first posted last year. I provided information on failures and multiple failures into the flat towing issues with these transmissions as well. As yet I have not heard one word from them. I think they are just fishing.
