Mileage Thread

Ok i didn't seem to see this type of thread here. Post up your Model/year/engine/mileage/mpg and any major repairs.

'07 Escape XLT, v6 auto trans, 4x4 - 153,959
Stock original everything (except fluids and battery and tires... *knocks on wood*)

24mpg on a consistent basis.

Just curious as to what some others have had and if they are getting decent mileage out of them.

What's your engine , transmission ?
I have an 09 V6 automatic with less than 5000 miles . I average around 20 mph with mostly city driving. I had to have the right hand cyl head replaced for a noise and the PCM reflashed for transmission issues so far ... knock on wood .

2006 XLT 4WD V6 As low as 17.5 in winter to 22.8 in warmer months. Have only owned it for 7 months. Mostly suburban country road miles with a light foot.
I'm going to try the trick of removing the 4wd fuse one of these tanks to see improvement. I've heard of up to 2mpg improvement which I assume is probably in the city.
I've tracked every fill-up so far and logged data into Truedelta.

2005 escape 94867 miles,

had to replace PCM, COPs, and cleared CATS. clothseats didn't hold up well to with my dogs although my benz and mitsubishi seats don't seem to mine the dogs. The right front tone ring cracked. Other that those things and it's 17.5 mpg average it's been great.

2004 XLT V6, 4x4, 4 speed auto trans. 253,463 miles. I get a max of 25mph on the highway with an average of 22 mph. No problems with it so far other than normal service. Its not using any fluids nor drips any. The only problem that has cropped up is the factory 6 C/D player is crapping out.

You are running on original drivetrain? no rebuilt trans or engine? This is great to know as i'm trying to squeeze 250+ out of mine! I however have a slight trans leak from where the trans and engine meet. Nothing bad, a few drops here and there.

Awesome to hear though no major issues in 250k miles!

Everything is still original equipment other than an oilpan that I replaced because I wasn't paying attention to where I was driving. When I had the plugs replaced a couple of months ago they ran a compression check and I had 135 lbs. all the way around.

As you can imagine I'm extremely happy with my Escape.

This is great to know! I just rolled 155k in my 07 and i was worried i only had another 50k left in her. She runs beautiful but you never know. I'm glad you have had such great luck, i'd like to push mine as close to 300k as possible without any major repairs

2010 FWD Escape XLT 2.5L 686 miles. Average of 18.0 MPG only stop and go driving. I'm heavy on the pedal. My 2005 ZX3 gets 24.0 MPG when I drive it and my wife gets 32 MPG.

I don't know if I will ever get the 24/28 city/freeway MPG.

I'm only on my 2nd fill up so far. I will keep watching to see if my MPG gets to 20 MPG. Driving in Sunny San Diego weather year around. No highway driving yet. My work commute is only 5 miles round trip.

91 T-Bird 3.8 89,175 miles.
1 major problem replaced engine in 2003 because I didn't drive it enough to keep the oil pump pickup clean.
Replaced ECM ,Coil, TFI module, steering gear for noise problem AC Comp and just normal tune ups and tires..
Highway mpg 23.

Just got back from a 900 mile round trip (NJ - NC - NJ) Not much traffic, light on the gas, drove the speed limits. Just about reached 24.5 mpg. After a few weeks of being back to my normal drives, hanging at 23.4 mpg.

my 79 fairmont got 27MPG average when it had the 200ci(3.3L) inline 6, 244K miles Rwd C4 automatic 3speed; and it gets roughly 23-24mpg highway with the 302(5.0L), about 4500 miles since dropping it in after rebuild, 3 speed C4 automatic... i know the car doesn't belong in this section, but i thought i'd throw it in the mix just to see how far fuel mileage has come in the last 31 years, since fuel injection was supposed to be better...
best thing i ever traded a pack of camels and $10 for...

My 2009 XLT 2.5 I4 5spd gets 27mpg in the warmer months and 25mpg in the winter (255/55/17 studded tires). No major repairs, although it seems to be eating up brake pads/rotors pretty quickly (rotors @ 25000km/15500mi, pads at 30000km/18600mi). Thats most likely due to living in the mountains.

My 1992 VW Jetta consistently gets 43mpg however, and that's with a blown heater core and 320000km/199000mi on the clock!!

Ford really need to bring over their diesel engines from the European models... similar power, way more torque and obviously better economy

Tempo 83000mi original. Got it 9mo ago at 80000mi. So far one oil change, new starter, and new rear breaks. Everything else was done to it right before I got it.
Tbird 19500mi original. Within the past year, did an oil change. Got it in 02 at 11500mi so I only put about 1000mi a year on it.
