It did have a small pinstripe on the outer edges of the stripe according to some pics, but I adjusted it to my desires. I do like the small pinstripes tho

Looking great ! Question, what or how is the chrome trim held on around the tail lights ? I see you removed yours, wondering how easy it was.

That is kind of an in depth question. I have over 15hrs in the tail lights, and they look great. The strips that run horizontal next to the reverse lamps are just glued on, and with a small flathead they come off really easy, sometimes without any effort. The long vertical chrome running the top and bottom of the lights snaps in, one of two ways to take them off
1. Gently pull up on the trim and roll it backwards, it should pop off, but it slides into the corner trim pieces, so you have to bend it slightly to get one side out. Once one side is out you can slide the rest out.
2. With a small hook tool you can reach behind it and pop it off, however you still have to slide it out of the end chrome pieces. Only problem I've run into taking them apart is breaking the little fiberglass tabs that hold them in place.
If you break them, its not the end of the world. You can take some Butyl tape and put little dabs here and there to hold it snug.
Then you can remove the plastic end chrome pieces. They are held on with two rivets on the face of the light assembly. Then if you turn the lamp assembly around, you will see the two plastic studs that are held in with little pressure clips, Cut the clips with cutting pliers and replace them, otherwise you can break the plastic studs(i've done it, whoops).
I hope this helps, it may be hard to follow but if you are going to take it all apart and paint it like I did, the results are gratifying. I taped off all the red lenses and painted inbetween black like factory, that took a LONG time, maybe too long haha
As for my aluminum trim, I sent it out to get re-done, and I had the two tail lamp strips done, and the front and rear bumpers done. I am not completely thrilled with them, but thats another story for another day. They came out ok and look good on the car, perhaps i think I should have got a better product for my money.
Hope this helps, I will continue updating as I go along.

A few small things have transpired. One, I found a good quarter window, and installed it, so all the glass is in. Put the "buckle up" stickers in the windows, and i'm trying to finish up the rear end. I got an 88 Turbocoupe rear end off craigslist for 75 bucks, its all painted, I have new brakes, bushings, lines, hoses etc. I had to fab up some new dust shields, and I'm hoping to finish that all up this week...

You can still buy them dust shields for the mustang. Those look a lot like my '98 8.8's.

Well it has been a busy few months, but I will be back on the turbo in the coming weeks. Now that winter is over I have to move some cars and toys around so I can get the turbo out of my neighbors garage and into mine. I have the engine torn down in the basement, and I am working on that. I am looking for a new turbo and exhaust manifold, but I am not sure where to look. Any ideas??
I will update some pics as I go along!!
