1980 Fairmont Turbo Coming my way!
Well I sold my box top last month, and I have been searching for another Fairmont replacement. Searching close to home became an issue because all the Z's/Monts were not what I was looking for (sedans). So i pulled up a search for Fairmont Turbo for fun and pulled one up in CA. Needless to say I worked out a deal, and its coming to the east coast!
Anyway, here are some pics, it will be on its way next week!

Its super solid, only one dent. I have 50+pics, but they are all of underneath etc. No rust, only a bit of surface here and there, its going to be sweet!

Great body . . now the engine. You are planning keeping it Turbo I spose? It is rare, but there's a reason Not sure if you have an experience with the carbureted 2.3 Turbos . . but nothing too good about them . . and that was in a lighter Mustang . yikes!! Good luck with the find.

Engine is allegedly seized. Planning to return it to stock and use it as a daily driver, but plans could change!

If you were to keep the 4cyl turbo....If it were me, I would go with the injected 2.3 turbo out of a t-bird or such....lots more hp easier to upgrade also.

I agree . . . the carbed Turbo was problematic. An SVO 2.3 would be the ticket

From what I've read, 1980 was the only year for Fairmont turbos, and they were available in all body styles(not sure about wagon though) and a total of 1158 turbo Fairmonts were made.

They were designed more for fuel economy according to the brochures. Zephyrs offered it as an option, I am not sure how many they made. According to the brochures, the turbo cars had a smaller gas tank than regular fairmonts. (idk why) None the less, they are cool, and different, basically my entire reason for owning fairmonts in the first place!

Well at the least they are very rare, not sure if they are rare enough to fetch a high dollar amount though since I didnt think anything Turbo ford made in the 80's fetched any big money now.
Still a cool car.

Have you priced a clean 79-81 cobra and 79 pace cars? Both were offered with the 4cyl turbo option and still fetch decent money.
