Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread, lol. If you want pix I have thousands of fairmonts and anything else you can think of. As for your wheel and tire question Im assuming you have a driver, 90's Cobra mustang 16 inch wheels fit nicely, you'll maybe have to play with tire size, 16 inch bullets are cool on fairmonts also. Here are a few ideas. The black wagon above even has 16 inch t-bird wheels on it.

Wow; tons of nice pics. What area do you live in where there are so many of these cars? I wonder where they get their weatherstripping and under the hood/fenders little rubber cushion pieces. I've looked at so many websites and no one seems to have them for a 2dr sedan.

I live in Virginia at the moment but these pictures come from all over the country, most I took but some I bogarted from the net as well. As for weather stripping you might check jc whitney, and keep checking ebay, the little rubber hood bumpers you'll have to scavenge for,but keep in mind it doesn't have to be off a fairmont. Here's a few more, There are a bunch in my album too, I would post everything I have but as I found out this site has a limit on how many pictures you can have so, there loss I guess. Thanx to FORDNATION for these 5 pix.

Welcome jackson1, I would say first of all post your info....is the car all stock? Did you put an 8.8 in place of the old rear ? If so, what year, rear discs or drums ? What front spindles do you have ? 5 lugs ?
Help us out on the details and what you actually want or what your future plans are.

I live in Charlton Ma, only 40 miles from you! If you want to see another Fairmont/Zephyr, i've got 3, and sold my 2dr sedan to a friend in webster!
P.S. I run 235/40ZR18...I have adjustable lower control arms in the rear, and stock suspension up front.

Well, the black steel ones i have have the wrong offset and too tall of tire side wall. But I dont know about any other CV wheels and how they fit. I got mine just for the build...free tires...so they where picked as ..." as long as they are round and black "....I didnt care if it was CV spec.'s

If you still have the stock 4 bolt lugs, I have 4 1988 LX 5.0 wheels that I painted black with painted silver/alum. color center caps. I also got some bright red touch-up paint and double coated the very outside edge of the wheel to try and mimick the look of redline tires. I am currently switching to 5 lug on my "78 Fairmont. Can send a pic if you want. What state are you in?

I had 245/60/15s on the back of my 80 Boxtop and there was plently of room to go wider.
It will also depend on the backspacing. These wheels had a lot of backspacing but if you have much less and the wheels are 8 inches wide or wider you are probably going to hit the fenders.
235/75/15 will fit the front but I couldn't get my finger between the tire and strut. With this situation less backspacing would have helped but not too much because then the tires could hit the fenders during turns.

all these wagon pics look sweet,
i liked to to put a wood panel kit on mine like the green one thought about wood panel vinyl graphic.
also wondering in the black fairmont wagon pic those thunderbird rims look good 5 or 4 lug anyone? still debating on a set of 16 inch pony wheels or putting set of chrome full moon hubcaps. was thinking of putting a set of triple lakepipe on for looks ,but could make fuctional. heck if the 4 lug cobra rims would fit that would be great. just would have to pay the piper.
1981 ford fairmont wagon
thanks stovebolt
