Bug

Got the bug to do some off-season work on the car. No heated garage means i'll have to brave the cold to do it though. Strange how that works. i barely touched the thing ON season. I was busy though...

I had an inspiration on what to do about my gas filler neck problem. The history of this is, this past summer I cut the filler neck and put a flexible hose in between so that the seal wouldn't leak at the tank. It's a Mustang tank and doesn't really fit there. Anyway, when i went to fill, i got gas spilling out the top of the filler neck as well as the vent on top of the tank. it turned out, i didn't keep the divider down the middle of the neck, so the air the gas was replacing had nowhere to go. My solution is, i'm going to put a second flexible hose inside the main one and run it in between the "vent" portions of the filler neck. it's my hope that this will provide enough space for the air to flow back out as the gas is going in.

Anyway, also on the list, when i put my '87-93 Mustang interior stuff in, it was all grey because my parts car had a grey dash, so i just used what i had on hand. BUT, my car came with a black interior, so my plan now is to slowly replace the grey stuff with black, so the interior all matches.

Thirdly, since my daily driver Focus is an auto, i'd really like the Zeph to be a manual. I found a T5 and most things i'll need for the conversion locally for sale and am looking at picking it all up soon.

Well give me a call and we can hit the Hastings bone yard !! Plus, I like your gray/black interior...maybe just tie the two together a little bit more by adding some gray to the black areas. Like fabric inserts or carbon fiber....etc..so many ideas. New headliner..... wow ideas ideas....

i found some black stuff locally. not enough to replace everything yet though. black interior is pretty rare and goes for a premium. my headliner DOES need work. it just started to sag this year.

Cool, let me know if you need help with the headliner. They are easy to fix but a bit of a pain to get them out of the car.

Thanks, will do. I love your headliner. What did you use again? I picked up the dash today. I also got some black seat fabric kits for the Mustang seats. should be awesome. I will have to get creative with the door panels though. I decided to just use the stock black door panels, but maybe try and eliminate the fake wood on them somehow. maybe cover it with the headrest fabric i got with the set, since they are too small for my headrests. See, there's still room for some improvising!

Nice! I used suede on the headliner and rear dash panel. This stuff is easy to work with.
