Maybe Helpful Gastank Info!

I had a guy contact me on Cardomain just now and tell me I could use a Fox Body LTD/Marquis fuel tank in my car. He says it's the same as a Fairmont/Zephyr tank, only it's set up for fuel injection. I had thought that might be the case, but wasn't sure until now! So, I thought I would pass it along in case it helps anyone here!

Looks like we need to hit that all Ford junkyard, Eric!

It's just kind of a shame in my case because i got rid of the Zeph filler neck and straps, so I'd have to buy those again!

I'd rather deal with a little snow (i doubt there could be a lot of snow by the time we get out there--that would be another story) than mosquitos, poison ivy, bee hives, and whatever else is out there.

I found a picture of what the wagon tank actually looks like on Auto Zone's website, and sure enough, it's the same. I also found my Zeph filler neck in the garage! BUT, I'll still need to get the assembly the pump mounts to that goes in the tank at the junkyard, because I'm not buying a new fuel pump just to take the low pressure pump off and put the 5.0L one on. That's just a waste. Maybe I could get the straps too. I remember there being a Fox Marquis sedan there, but not necessarily a wagon. The sedan tank is different, but will have the right pump assembly thingy, I have to assume.

Oh yeah, I'll probably need to cut a whole spare tire well out of a car so i can put it in mine. i hacked mine up with i was making room for the Mustang tank, but the LTD/Marquis tank will want to fit around the spare tire well, so I'll need a whole one so it fits snug. Do you have some sort of cordless tool we could use for that Eric?

Update on this. I did a test fit yesterday, and it fits awesome! I was able to swap pumps onto the LTD pump frame with very little trouble. I'm just waiting for the new seals to come in and my gas tank problems are over!
