I don't have a 5", but you can get a idea of where I put mine in the van. I know its newer than yours and not a truck, but its an idea.

Thanks Grem, Yea thats about where I will end up probably .. Really do not want to drill into my dash cause it is not cracked anywhere so I do not want to put any holes into it. Also thought about mounting it near my visor but then it will block using the visor..

I bet its a pita changing the plugs on that V10..Does she run good?

Lets just say I won't be changing the plugs until I absolutely have to...

In some ways its easier to change them on the Modular engines because they are up on top of the engine rather than down by the exhaust manifolds. I took some time to move some stuff (wiring harnesses mostly) around to make more room and it went much easier than I had expected. That said, it still took me about 6 hours from start to finish.

She runs very good. I've had it for about 18 months now and it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. The power from the V10 is incredibly smooth and consistent. The truck it replaced (4.7L 1/2 ton Ram) didn't have much torque until you got the RPMs up and then it was only a narrow RPM band that it would really pull in - anything above or below it and you were just out of luck. The van pulls from off idle all the way up to 4,000 RPM - which basically covers all the bases. I am very happy that I chose this power train over the 460 powered unit parked next to it on the dealer's lot.
