HIGH ALTITUDE FLATHEAD-INLINE NATIONALS AT FUN FORD WEEKEND
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (May 25, 2011) – It was recently announced that Fun Ford Weekend is back and ready to rumble the grounds of 5 select race tracks across the U.S. for the 2011 year. Bandimere Speedway will host the series kick-off event on June 26th.
Leading up to the very first Fun Ford Weekend of 2011, Bandimere Speedway, located in Morrison, Colo., will once again house the High Altitude Flathead-Inline Nationals, June 24-26. This special event is held in conjunction with the Phil Long Ford “Fun Ford Weekend.”
“These two events go hand-in-hand and will make for a very special weekend.” added Jeff Sipes marketing/ media relations at Bandimere Speedway.
The Flathead-Inline Nationals will provide fans with over 50 Ford powered vintage dragsters and fuel altereds, yielding extreme drag racing entertainment for all. Four drag racing classes are set for this special event. Flathead powered dragsters, altereds, and coupes will compete with various race vehicles running inline 6 cylinder power plants.
“These cars are really amazing to hear and watch,” says Mark Beatty of Bandimere Speedway. “The Flathead-Inline Nationals is a great race that reminds us where drag racing started.” continued Beatty.
Competitors from all around the United States have the opportunity to race for championship trophies at the Flathead-Inline Nationals. The weekend will also include a BBQ on Saturday night of the event and participants will be receiving a special gift from Bandimere Speedway.

5.0 Shootout presented by Finishline Automotive, .5 tenths full tree, dial-in class, No delay boxes, slicks optional, entries must be street legal (plates and insurance)

* Fast Ford and Quick Ford will run separate until the 4th round. Class will be combined and laddered starting 4th round
Shelby GT 500/ Lightning Truck bonus program. Awards given out to the fastest Shelby GT 500 and fastest Lightning truck during time trials

EVENT RESTRICTIONS:
Race participants 16 & 17 years of age must have a 2011 Minor Release and Waiver of Liability Form signed by parent or legal guardians. Forms must be current 2011 documents. Past year’s forms are not accepted. (Forms are available at the track or can be downloaded at Bandimere Upcoming Event under the Racer’s Corner menu). Race participants must have a valid driver’s license. Seat belts and long pants are mandatory for all race participants. All vehicles must meet NHRA safety requirements outlined in the 2011 NHRA Rulebook. No dogs allowed through any spectator gates, except for service animals. Racers coming in with a dog must have the dog secured and kept in the racers pit spot only.
