Completely drain the water lines, boilers, water heaters and leave the faucets open, hot and cold. Watch the kids aquariums as well!
Thanks for mentioning the P traps, I forgot about them!

Just so that we remain environmentally concious, when you mentioned anitfreeze, I am sure that you meant one that is safe for potable water supply systems. Right? K mart and Walmart carry a brand that is only about $4 a gallon.
Ideal for winterizing all types of potable water supply systems. Recommended for use in boats, trailers, recreational vehicles, vacation homes, swimming pool filtration and heating systems.

Yep Poppy gotta use the pink stuff for plumbing!

We use that for the cabin when it gets winterized, I also used it on my old Waverunner.

Old Pirate Lane where we live has a well for most of the 13 houses on the private street. We have a 3hp/3ph submersible pump to feed a 2,000 gallon tank. If city water is working, we can supply our system from it.

When the big one hits, I have little confidence in public water supply, so a neighbor and I plan to test my 5kw gen with his single/three phase converter to see if it will run the pump. I have another 5kw gen for the house.

OT: the G-D incompetent govt (that's all of them) notified us that they have changed OP Lane to OP Drive, because it runs E-W. Nobody asked us, and now it's in all the databases. I use just Old Pirate.

FLASHLIGHT n.: a storage case for dead batteries.
