Poppy;
This the first time I have seen anyone in the chat room. I am kinda stoopid with computers but I'll be damned if I can get on the thing. According to my computer, I have the latest up-dates and all but all I ever get is that drop down box which does nothing for me. Any suggestions?

Bill,
Try selecting the verify java version.
You may not have java installed. It should take you to sun microsystems to download and install the latest version

Poppy;
I seem to be having a dispute with my computer. I have verified that I have the proper Java installed several times. Whenever I try to open Chat, it tells me to verify that I have the proper one (java 6 rev30) which I have just verified. It's a good thing I am not armed because I would have put a round through screen long ago. My grandkids are not available to show me what I am doing wrong so I'll have to just kick back until a more serene time to map it out.

I don't know enough about it to troubleshoot it for you, but you might try using a differnt browser, either google's chrome, or firefox.
Maybe your antivirus is somehow getting in the way.

I finally got to the chat room. It was the google chrome that took me there. The very next time I see someone on, I'll drop in. That is, if I can retain my new-found knowledge that long. Nothing is a sure thing for me anymore.
