New Muscle car in the family
Hey ya'll, I haven't been around these parts since I started a Dune Buggy project last spring. In fact I had a computer lay down and didn't even have this link in my favorites. I finished my wifes buggy. It came out very nice and was so easy to build I've since started another one. Then;
Well, a friend of ours does estate sales. I saw her the other day and she told me about an up and coming sale. She also said that they were having a pre-sale invitation only a week before the regular sale; she sent me an invitation.. They opened the thing at 1pm promptly. I was ten minutes late. The way it worked was that things were priced, if you wanted to pay the price it was yours. If not they had a sealed box for bids to be placed in. I would say there were around 30 people invited. There were probably 40 guns and people were swarming so I went outside and checked out this convertible. When I went back in the traffic had slowed on the guns so I took a look. Much to my surprise there layed a Winchester model 12 priced too cheap. It said nickel steel on the thing and that threw me for a loop. I called my nephew and asked him. He said oh, the nickel steel guns were the early ones. I rushed back in and bought it. I've since learned it was manufactured in 1924 and it looks new. These guns are highly sought after and I knew it; I have my fathers that he bought new in 1961 the year I was born. I digress, back to the mopar. I thought long and hard about what bid I would leave. My gut told me one thing but I decided to up it $500. Shortly after I got home she called and told me I was hi bidder by $300. Yes!!! I've since learned that it has a 440 big block, not original but who cares its a 440 big block! I'll pick it up friday, can't wait. This car is nice. 1967 Coronet 500

Oh man, you ain't kiddin. They were made for 50 years from 1913-1963 and you will routinely see them at trap shoots, sporting clays as well as still board meets still being used as the go to gun.

Wow, a 67 Dodge Coronet.
The first car my dad bought brand new. His had a six, I guess it was the vererable slant six.
At any rate, a car like that with a 440! Yahoo!!!
Have a great time!
