my car came without a radio. it was optional. luckily my last fairmont had the 4 speaker 8trac stereo, so i could mod it from there. i don't care for the radio stations by my house, but it's ok because i have a great sounding exhaust...

I assume you have another car for long trips? No music/radio would make those types of trips a little longer. At least for me...

i installed the radio from the 80 into the 79. FORD really did make the universal car. my brake pedal is the same size and in the same place with it's automatic, as the standard would have it...

LOL... I made an 1100 mile trip to Disney in my motorhome.
The grandkids deposited some coins inside the cassette deck. The radio would play, I'd hit a bump, and it would go off, then later back on for a minute or so. I ended up getting one of those songs stuck in my head, and drove for I guess 800 miles singing the same few lines of the song over and over again, because I didn't know the words.

Talking about being crazy by time I got there!

When I found the coins inside the radio, I had to laugh, it reminded me of the commercial where the VHS recorder had maypo or something coming out of it.
