MyFord Touch Navigation
I recently purchased a new 2011 Explorer XLT with the Touch Screen Navigation System. I want to point out a few problems I've had with the MyFord Touch Screen. I bought the Explorer on June 24, 2011. Within two weeks the Touch Screen seized up. I could not get it to switch input screens from Navigation to any of the other three (Entertainment, Climate or Cell Phone). I had to turn the vehicle off and open the door to fully cut off the power. It has a ten minute delay when you turn the key off unless you open one of the doors. On July 22, 2011 I had problems with the Entertainment screen. I tried to touch the bottom left button on the Sirius 123 indicator. This allows you to switch Sirius bands from Sirius 1, Sirius 2 or Sirius 3. It would not switch and therefore would not show the 6 pre-selects on the right side of the screen. This means that you can not hit a pre-select to tune to your favorite station. You have to tune up or down or directly enter the channel number if you know it. I also noticed the Navigation Screen has a slight flaw. It is no big deal for anyone who rarely uses this feature. I sell insurance and drive to several destinations on a regular basis. An example of this flaw is as follows. I enter a destination about 25 miles away. The ETA indicates about 58 minutes. It actually only takes about 35 minutes. As I get closer to the destination point the ETA Indicator slowly recomputes to my actual arrival time. As I get a mile or so from my destination point the ETA indicator becomes accurate by showing a two minute arrival time. I believe this MyTouch Screen is a new model. I realize it sometimes will take a few years to get all of the bugs worked out. I bought a 5 yr 100,000 mile extended warranty realizing I may have problems with anything "Computer Oriented". I'm going to give it another week or two to see if it clears up on its own. I have already received one "update" over the air. The next update may correct these issues.

Ford had several software updates. (Dealer installed )
I suspect there will be more.
Document the issues you have to keep record.

Ford has released updates for this problem, earlier this week. See you local selling dealer for a solution to your problem. Some of these updates can take a couple of hours, so check for scheduling.

I just had my "MyFord Touch" Navigation system updated on 8/4/11. It took about 1 Hr 45 Minutes. I had to re-connect my Bluetooth connection with my phone and all of "My Favorites" navigation destinations were erased. I now am unable to see the "Sirius Travel Link" weather. I was in a rainy area and my cell phone indicated I was in the middle of a 30 square mile rain storm. The weather on my "Sirius Traffic Link" weather screen indicated clear weather conditions. It was working before I had the system updated. Prior to the update the navigation screen showed the restaurant and fuel stop icons. Now I can't get them to show up on the map.

The problems continue... on 8/7/11 my navigation system indicated I was a whole city block off of my correct location. Good thing I was not in a strange city trying to find a location.
