The Goodyear Fortera Triple Treads have excellent wet and snow traction. I have them on my car. Not sure if they make them for Escapes.

I agree with the guys who cited the Goodyear Triple Tred, but they are hard to find in the Fortera line. Another really good tire is the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor. They are more agressive so you might compromise on ride and noise. I just put them on my 2002 Escape and they are great

General Grabber HTs are really good also. My father just put them on his 2010 Escape and he said there alot quieter and much better traction in the wet and snow compared to the OEM Michelins Latitudes. They are rated really well in cosumer reports and my father saved $65.00 per tire also buy not buying the Michelins.

I have Hancock tires on my new 2011 Edge, I have to say I will probably buy these tires in the future for replacements.

Anyone try Continental's ProContact with EcoPlus Technology? I've been looking at these tires to replace my 09 Escape's Michelin Cross Terrain tires. The tires have about 37K miles with maybe 7500 or more miles left on them. However, the wet and winter traction is getting pretty bad so I'm thinking of replacing them before winter. Thanks for any suggestions.
