All Season Tires for Escape
I'm struggling with which tire to replace my Michelin Cross Terrains on my '09 Escape.
I want an all season tire that has fair-good snow & ice traction. I've looked at almost every tire on Tire Rack for my size and I'm still uncertain which tire would be best for the Escape. The reviews are too conflicting to be helpful and are not Escape specific.
Which tires do you like? Does anyone have any experience with the Michelin Energy Saver A/S or Bridgestone Ecopia? A low rolling resistance tire would be nice but I'm unsure of the severity of the tradeoffs I would have to make. Thanks for any suggestions.

"A low rolling resistance tire would be nice but I'm unsure of the severity of the tradeoffs I would have to make. Thanks for any suggestions." That would have to be a hard rubber tire and probably wouldn't get good traction stopping or in rain, ice or snow.IMHO

Look at the traction and tread wear ratings. I always buy Michelins, and never had one fail. Other brands that came on used cars I've bought haven't been so good.

Michelin tires are some of the best tires out their. I bought my last pair at Costco. The service was terrible and took for ever. Just bought some new tires to replace some old ones at a discount tire chain that only sells tires and was in and out quickly less than 30 minutes and the cost was about the same as Costco. Wish I could say Costco is the place to get good deals on Michelin tires, but what is your time worth.

I've loved the Michelin Symentrys I've had.

I bought one set of those for a Kia as that was the only tire Michelin makes for the size I needed. The traction was horrible after the first 1/4 wear and was down to the wear bars at 30,000 miles. Replaced them with BF Goodriches and they are doing well with 20,000 on them now. Also here in the sun belt all the Michelins I have had cracked bad and had separation after 4 years. Also IMHO keep that damn tire black OFF your tires.

I ended up buying a set of Michelin Lattitude Tour tires from Discount Tire. I'm very happy with the tires and Discount Tire was also very good. They obtained a good credit from Michelin for my Cross Terrain's that were wearing far too quickly.
The Lattitude Tour's are quiet with decent handling. Wet road driving also is good but I haven't pushed them. No snow or ice here yet so I can't comment about that. Highway fuel mileage went up 1-2 mpg.

I got Hankook Tires on my 2011 Edge, best handling thing I drove in the snow.
