We race a 1979 Ford Fairmont Futura with a 200 straight six (also known as the 3.3l) and a C4 automatic transmission. We made it lighter, and used Mustang and Thunderbird parts from the junk yard to make it handle. We ran a pretty good race at Buttonwillow our first time out finishing 100th out of 135. Unfortunately the 99k mile motor got tired and gave up before the end the second day of racing. Now we need a motor. Any Ford 200 or 170 made between 1967 and 1980 will do. 1980-83 motors will work as well, but the bolt pattern for the transmission may be different, so I'd need the transmission too, same with the 64-67.
So what do you have? Putting a V8 in a classic Falcon or Mustang with a 6 in it? Give me a call and lets it go out with a bang, not a whimper. These motors were in Econolines, Broncos, Fairlanes, Falcons, Mustangs and in late 70s early 80s T-birds, Fairmonts, Mustangs, Capris, Zephyrs and more. Plus your classic Mercury Comets and such. Besides the money we're willing to spend, we'll give you an autographed team picture too, and maybe a team T-shirt making you a crew member.
