Haven't needed the heater trough the summer but with winter coming I'ld like at least have the defroster. Living in Florida it doesn't get that cold that often but when it does its nice to keep warm.. I first checked the fuses & the are ok.. next I pulled the plugin off the blower hoping for a power reading .. none.. next I pulled the dash cover off of the control panel and checked for power into the blower switch.. nothing. Any ideas?

thanks Mark :nonod:

Hey there Mark,

I have days where I'd forget my head if it wasn't attached, so don't take this the wrong way, but you did have the key in the "ON" position when you tested both the Blower Motor and Blower Motor Switch Connectors?

Did you check/test the Blower Motor Relay?

I am attaching the AC/Heater Wiring Diagram for a 1989 E350.

Hope this helps.

Mark, the Blower Switch chooses the ground path for the blower motor through the differing resistors. We actually need to be looking at the "Function Selector Switch" for power availability, coming from the fuse.

If your truck has A/C, then lets look for power on circuit 181, the Brown Orange wire, shown above.

If your truck has no A/C, then lets look for power on circuit 181, the Orange wire, shown below.

If you have no power on these wires going to your Function Selector Switch, then we need to backtrack to the Fuse Block, and look at Fuse #9.

thanks for the help MissInformation & Electro, it turns out it was the blower relay, located right where you said MissInformation, but with such a small area to work with it was hard to get to (right infront of the battery). Now I get to reverse the process of the dimantled dash... BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!
As long as we're on electrical problems... I had some trouble with my fuel pumps (2). I replaced both (inline & intank), withing 2 months the intank pump went out and I had to replaced the pump motor (I had replaced the whole assembly originally) this was a NAPA product and the odering took too much time. Now the pump works but the fuel gauge sending unit doesn't. It had worked previously. Should I return the whole unit (which will be a pain and it has been 6 months ) or is there another remedy. Any help?

Thanks
Mark

Mark, as you can see, we are here to help, and you are in capable hands.

However, I would ask you to start a new thread pertaining to the fuel pumps and gauge issues. This will help others down the line find the answers that they need.

Thank You for the kind words.
