    Hello,

Just acquired a 2005 Ford Five Hundred.

The parking aid system does not work and I imagine one or some of the back up sensors do not work.

I've searched online but have not found any how to videos or sites detailing how to access and replace the parking aid sensors on (in) the rear bumper.

Any suggestions or helpful links to sites, manuals or how to videos would be appreciated.

    Thanks !

    Marc

O.k. Thanks for the diagram and part numbers. That's helpful.

I imagine you have to take the bumper cover off to access them ??

If so, do you know where I could find a guide on how to do this ?

    Thanks.

The owner's manual and shop manual will help you with diagnosis.

Check the owner's manual to see if there is fuse protection and if that fuse has blown. The shop manual will go through diagnosis and install remove routine.

This is what the shop manual looks like.

As a guess that system needs to know that the vehicle is going in reverse. Check to make sure the reverse lights come on. (Do this with a helper) There is a transmission range sensor that sends the signal for this.
