I bought one of these and upon removing the old one, I noticed that the plastic piece that sits under it is also broken at the bottom.
This piece has kind of a W shaped end at the top and bottom that tabs from the cam rest on. It is the lower W that is half missing.

This appears to be a difficult part to find.

Do you think the turn signal and cancelling will still work with this lower piece broken?
It seems that the mounting of the cam is solid enough that everything would still pivot as expected?

    Thanks.

    Yes, that is it.
One of those u shaped or m shaped plastic things on each end.
One end one is half gone.
Do you think that will affect proper functioning?
    I have a new cam.
The old one was broken on the same end.

No, it's the plastic part underneath it that has the small ears on each end one of which is broke off.
Not sure if that would prevent proper operation.

thats the part that makes the switch stay where you put it. without the "m" the handle could fall down when you set it to right.

Would I be able to reinstall the steering wheel without installing the cam until I find a new turn signal switch, so I can at least drive the car?
Or will that screw something up?
    Thanks.
