Hi, so I’m changing the MAF sensor on my 06 escape hybrid, it’s a 2.3L 4c so I’m attempting to do as much as I can myself. I see on the Ford website it’s an ALFS131 but it also says 12B579 however I can’t seem to find one with the same numbers in the local parts stores , any advice ?

Welcome to the FFO!

Ford part number consist of 3 pieces
A pre-fix
A base number
And a suffix

And know that the number affixed to the part is NOT a part number. It is an engineering number. Ford Motor Company is the only auto company that does this.

Aftermarket companies will use their own number system

12B579 is a base number. What is missing is the prefix and suffix.

In Ford's number system the base number refers to the general part.
All Ford water pumps have a base number of 8501

A base number of 12B579 is for a Mass Air Flow sensor.

The Mass Air Flow sensor specific for your vehicle will have a prefix 12B579 and a suffix.
