06 ford freestar the radio will not turn off when the van has been shut off and the door has been opened. I have to turn the radio off by pushing the button. Yet the clock still stays on. This is now draining the battery on a nightly basis.
Quick question - do the windows also continue to get power? I ask because the power to the radio after the key is turned off is supplied from Accessory Delay Relay 1, which also powers all the windows as well. I am wondering if Accessory Delay Relay is stuck open and supplying constant power and not switching itself off. According to your owner's manual and the power distribution diagrams, the clock is supplied power via fuse 10 B+, which I am understanding to be direct battery feed, so that should not be what is causing the battery drain.
Door ajar switch drivers side,if it doesnt work the radio will stay on for however long its programed for. With a weak battery it may not last 20 minutes .Any door ajar problems, interior lamp problems ?
