Just replace the transmission after having it sit for a year. Everything seems fine except that when i start it up the fans stay on full speed the whole time. Any help would be appricated!

The fans are controlled by a module that take input from a couple different sources.
The exception is when the AC compressor is turned on and at least one fan should be one all the time.

If the HVAC system is turned off do the fans stop when engine is cold?

The fans continue to run without the hvac system running.

The operation is controlled by the PCM.
The PCM keeps the fans on because of a sensor input.
Is the check engine light on?
Is so pull codes and address those issues

If the light is on, the shop manual will give you a diagnostic routine to diagnose the problem. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2008-Ford-...733338?hash=item48e496cc9a:g:WnsAAOSwbQVeoFzb

One last thing you might do just to reset the system since you had major work done. Disconnect the battery for an hour. This will reset and clear the electronic engine control system. May not work but it is very easy and cheap to do.

    Glad to hear it.
    I don't understand it either.
Like cycling a computer off and on.
What happens to fix that I do not understand.
Just glad when all it takes is to cycle the device and it works again.
