    Hi,

    Has anyone in here swapped a 170 to a 200 or 250 in a 63 Falcon?
The car in question has a 170 and a 2 speed automatic, so I was thinking in swapping for a bigger 6 and possibly a C4 transmission.
Anyone who can give a quick heads up?
It's a budget build, so any big mods is a no go.

Finding and adding a V8 is not an option due to local legislation

    read this
    http://techlib.fordsix.com/
Go to ford inline 6 specs on the right side
I think a 200 would be easier although some are different

In fact I would recommend a C-4 with the big six. If you upgrade to a later built six the existing transmission will not fit. This is because the bell housing changed.

    Thanks for your replies.
I will do some investigation to see what I can get my hands on.
My younger brothers are trying to get an old Falcon on the road and I'm about 1500 miles away, so I try to give them some online support and help them to do some wrenching when I'm around.
I know, that our father collected a lot of stuff (way too much) and there are a couple of C4's and bell housings lying around and a handful of 2nd gen 223's. I'm hoping for a 200 or a 250 to have sneaked in among them.
