    This listing states it has a 289.
    289 was introduced very late in the 1963 model run. (April 1963)
    So late in the model run some shop manuals only list the 260 small block
    The engine code listed "C" which does match for a 289 2V

    And I have seen very few XL with a small block engine. It can happen but the XL was top of the line trim that was extra cost. In addition it is a convertible, again very high cost option. Most of the time if the new car buyer was going to spend some cash, they would also pony up to bigger engine. The buy it now seems to be rather low for what this "pristine" vehicle is supposed to be.

    Dual exhaust, I don't think that is stock for this engine. And I believe the skirts were dealer installed. Which could have been added later.
