basically the title says it all I'm trying to figure out the rear end ratio and also the spline count of my 1970 Thunderbird I would like to install some type of locker. is it possible to figure this out by looking at the VIN number. attached is a picture of my VIN number. all help will be greatly appreciated thanks forum.

No
On the driver's door if original there will be an axe code. Either a single letter or single number. Single number is conventional axle single letter is a track loc limited slip axle.

If this tag is missing you will have to crawl under the car to get the data off of a metal tag on the axle.

If the factory axle is on the T-Bird it will be a removable carrier axle. This link should be a good read. http://www.kevinstang.com/Ninecase.htm
