I have a 2000 Ranger 4X4 3.0. The sending unit was bad and I ran it out of fuel and messed up the fuel pump. I changed the fuel pump sender assembly, filter and fuel damper on the fuel rail. It will start but will not stay running. It will run up to 1500 rpms and die. Any ideas?

Have you checked the fuel pressure?

That's the first thing my wife said, "You should have fixed that when it broke, now look what you did"

I have fuel pressure after the filter but not at the schrader valve on the rail. After turning the switch off and on a couple times I can get fuel out.

I asked about the pressure. If you don't have a fuel pressure gauge, you can use a cheap tire pressure gauge. You should have between 35-40 psi when you turn the key on.If your pressure drops more than 5psi in a minute, sheck for abad pressure regulator or a leaking injector.
