I have a 2000 Windstar SEL, and today all of a sudden while driving there was a beep from the dashboard. The digital indicator area where it normally gives status, like direction, miles to empty, direction (E, SE, W, N, etc...) all of a sudden said fuel error, and "ERR", along with the digital odometer having "-------" instead of the number. Also, the speedometer needle won't move (it sits on the bottom of the dial with no movement). The tachmeter works still though.

Any thoughts?

Hummmm, I am going to offer the simplest opinion, because I'm guessing you don't want to hear you may need an Instrument Cluster. Fuses 9, 10, 16, 14 (via the TCS) and 28 all supply power in one way or another to the Instrument Cluster. I would start there, by checking those fuses.

I am attaching Wiring Diagrams, specific to your 2000 Windstar for the Instrument Cluster as well.

This is the Forums "How To" on checking fuses also.

Hope this helps.

Thanks! Turned out that fuse #10 was blown. It was replaced and all is well. Good reminder to start with the simple little things...
