Recently picked up a 2000 Ford Windstar, and there is a minor problem with the power sliding doors. The driver side door works great, opening and closing. The passenger side door, however, is able to close itself if already opened but will not open from the closed position. You can hear/see it pull the latch and begin to try to open, but it ultimately fails to move the door more than about a centimeter (like when you close a door but don't latch it completely). Does anyone know the cause or fix for this? I haven't been able to find any documentation on how to access the motor that pulls the door so that I can attempt to service it. Thank you in advance for any and all help.

Hey there Dhowdy,

Will that Right Hand Power Sliding Door open manually?

I have attached Ford's TSB04-2-3 Power Sliding Door Operation and Diagnostic Service Tips for your reference.

Hope this helps.

The right hand side is the actually the easier of the two to open manually. Reading the TSB document now, will report back. Thanks a lot for the help :)
