We're working on replacing the clutch on my 2000 ZX2 and seem to be stuck at removing the drive axle from the transaxle. Apparently literally stuck. My husband says that the instructions (I assume Haynes manual) say to just knock it out with a screw driver. It's not coming out. Any suggestions?

Some are just plain difficult to remove. It needs to shocked, prying, steady pressure won't do it.
There is a special tool that can be used with a slide hammer to remove the CV shaft. You may be able to rent one from AZ or the likes......for free!

Thanks! He got it eventually, just took a whole lot longer than it should have. Of course, most things with this project have taken longer than he hoped. :)
