Sorry this is the first I looked at this thread.
IT sounds like your stalling is related to stepping on the brake. If so you probably have a vacuum leak in the vacuum power brake booster.

Idleing issues could be IAC related, and are often fixed by removing it, and cleaning it.

Check for vacuum leaks first.

Hello Experts,
I have had a problem in my ford Windstar 2001 limited edition from past few days. Once in a while while the care is halted at a stop light, after some time the car stalls. Sometimes while braking I hear some noice from front right side and slowly the car stalls. Then I start the car again and it works fine without any problem for the whole day.
This has happened about 3 times in last 4 days.
Also I had my tune up done at 112k. Currently I have 118K miles. I still get some jerks in the car, specially while climbing uphil when I apply brakes and then put the gas on.

I took the car to mechanic. He couldn't figure out, cause the car didn't stall in front of him. I recently had belt changed since it was making sqeuaking noice. My mechanic suggested the problem can be due to Idle valve. can that be the problem?

Has anyone had the stalling problem similar to mine. Any suggestiosn will be appreciated.

Regards
Deeps

We all have stalling problems, lol. I would say clean your MAF and Idle Air control valve. They make a special MAF cleaner and just use intake cleaner for fuel injected cars on the idle air control.

Honestly check your oil... I'm not sure if this is some sort of safety with the windstars or not. But when my oil was low. The van would die @ stops sometimes & start right back up... No oil light would go on either (this is why we called them idiot lights). But I would put a quart of oil in & the problem would go away.
