I am getting ready to replace the ball joints and I was hoping someone could provide me the torque specs for the lower joint and the upper pinch bolt. Is there a proper sequence in the tightening process?? A buddy of mine did his and he used 99 on the lower and 60 on the pinch bolt--he tightened the pinch bolt first and then torqued the lower joint to 99. I do not believe that he had neither the right specs nor the correct sequence, as when he was finished with the tightening process the spindle was very difficult to turn by hand (before the tie rod was reattached). Once he test drove the van it steered ok except that the steering system would not return very well at all.

Would the ball joints take time to seat in and should he dismantle the joints and retorque to the correct foot pounds and tightening sequence??

thanks for your comments.
