Rattle coming from the rear when hitting even small bumps. The exhaust appears tight. I've checked the spare tire and jack and it is secure. Could this be a shock problem? Thanks.

It might be shocks but....I'll bet on the sway bar end links. Not too hard to change.

+1 on the sway bar end links. Of course not saying that is exactly what it is, but 95' Bird was making a similar sound under the same conditions(even small bumps), turns out one of the bushings had come apart and was no where to be found resulting in the noise.

Rear rattle noise found

My repair shop found the rattle noise coming from the rear brake calipers. The calipers are vibrating on uneven pavement at slow speeds. The rattle stops at the slightest touch of the brake. There is no danger, just an annoyance. But, he found an oil leak from the ac compressor. My only complaint about Ford is there sorry ac systems, on the last three cars I have owned the compressor has to be replaced about every four years.
