My mariner is playing a chopping noise all of a sudden. I had been under the dash to see if I could get to the hot/cold blend gate, but never touched any wiring. But now whenever there's power to the radio, it sounds like a helicopter from the speakers. I had to pull the fuse to get it to stop. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks

Welcome to the Forum
It sounds like you have a broken wire going to the speaker
I had a T-Bird once that I was driving along and got the same noise and took it to a Radio shop
and the found a broken wire
They said for some reason my radio volume spiked and broke the wire
It was weird because I didn't touch a thing

Huh. I suppose that would make sense
I though it made sense
I decided to upgrade my radio
So I told them to put a newer aftermarket one in it
Because I thought the radio being at that time over 10 years old
They didn't find the wire until they installed the new one
That's when they found the broken wire
It was a lesson learned for me
