Has anyone heard any rumors about the 2012 escape?:idea:

Not certain if it will be 2012MY or later, but it is almost certain that the next Escape will use the same "platform" as the European Kuga.

Some believe that the Kuga will be a direct replacement for the Escape, but I don't believe it ! With the Escape "selling like hot cakes", why would Ford walk away from the small SUV market (Kuga is a CUV). Spy pictures of the all new Explorer show a traditional looking SUV even though it is built on the Taurus/Flex platform.

Having said that, Kuga could show up as a direct replacement for Mercury Mariner !

My Dealer was telling me that Ford is planing to redesign the Escape for 2012, and that like what "theoldwizard1" says, it is supposed to be based on the Kuga.

I'm just hoping they update the Hybrid version to use the same technology as the Fusion hybrid. I'd like to see the Escape run at 75KPH on electric...

I think i read somewhere that Ford was trying to resurrect the world car concept.So The Kuga may be the newest addition.
