so this morning it is time to start putting all the stuff back on except for the bumpers. i plan on working out the dent in the rear bumper and painting them before i put them on.
Looking good! That’s just primer right?

just primer for now, maybe the final color as well.
so yesterday i took a break on the falcon and we went to old fashion day at the courthouse and went to a car show.
didn't pick up any leads for parts but did see some cool cars.
this one guy had a 1956 Packard Sedan that had only 17,000 miles and still in prim condition. even the interior was original in great shape. it was a very clean car.

Old Fashioned Day is Benton, Arkansas's old festival. People from all over Saline County come together for this one-day arts & crafts festival.
Old 1940's and old car show, different contests, best mustache, beard, mullet, women's hair bun and cast-iron skillet throwing, live bands and other stuff.
At the fairgrounds a local car club put on a car show.
A good day to get the community together and have fun.

Well, I just ordered weather stripping for all the doors and the glass run weather stripping.
Should be in by Oct. 21st i hope.
i tried to save what was on the doors but the driver side was not savable at all and the other doors had none on the bottom side.

a little bit, just a hair above 300.00.
it's cray how just some strips rubber cost some darn much.
i thought about going with the peal-n-stick 3m universal. but then i would hate to come back in 3 mo. to replace it with more if it started to un-peal.

I also need the ridge div. bar channel as well, but it will have to wait. I don't even know if 96" is all that I need. most likely I will need 10" more than what they sale.

it fits really good except for 1 area. i put some clear sealant behind it and taped it till it dried.

o how i installed the weather strip... i pushed he front side down into the channel and then used a wooded stir stick to push the back side into place.

the whole process from start to stop was about 2hrs or so.
so now with all new weather stripping it takes a little force to shut the doors now.
i know when i get to drive it, it will be a lost less drafty going down the road.

putting to door handles on next i thought was going to be a quick process. 2 of the small black spaces where either missing or broke. so i ended up using some small rubber and cut out the shapes to make it work.

But what do you know they don't fit just right.

so after talking to some people i will grind down the tabs as close to the screws as possible and see if that will fix the fitment and hold tight.

once i get the bumper brackets fixed and the bumpers painted and all that small stuff that i come across then i'll do the clear coat.
the rear bumper has a good dent in it and i would like to get that worked out beforehand.
that a way i can clear coat the body and the bumpers and such.
