I have a 96 Ranger with a short in the fuel pump circuit. Thinking it was the fuel pump, I changed it but the 30 amp fuse still blows soon after I turn on the ignition, even with the fuel pump disconnected. The fuel pump relay seems to check out ok. I've been trying to trace the circuit back from the relay but I don't have a wiring diagram. Does anyone have experience with this?

Like Phantom said... IF you give us specific information we may be better able to help you.

You might disconnect the fuel safety inertia switchto see if the short is before or after it, then pull the fuel pump relay ... again to see if the short is before or after it.
