my mountaineer needs new lower ball joints. the service manual says the whole control arm needs replaced. i looked at them and they look like the ball joints can be pressed out and new one pressed back in. has anyone worked on these? any help would be appreciated

if you set the truck on jack stands, placing the jack stands under the lower control arms (this keeps the front springs loaded) you can use a standard ball joint press set to change them. be safe:biggrin5:
