I bought the same ones from the same place but unfortunately, we've had a long and cold winter and it still hasn't warmed up enough for me to install them. We're finally starting to see temps in the upper 50's and lower 60's so I'm going to try to get them installed here real soon. Are you going to follow their tips and use masking tape?
Streching a piece of masking tape down the length of the vehicle gives you a nice clean straight line to install them against.
The masking tape will peel off nice and clean?
If you take it off after you do the mlds yes.If your worried use blue painters tape.

Yes I plan to use masking tape. my concern is do I need to use something other than alcohol to remove any wax ?
First, use rubbing alcohol to clean the area where we are going to place the molding. Do not skip this step. Even brand new vehicles need to be cleaned in the same way. You need to remove any waxes or oils that are on the surface. This is to ensure a proper bond between the adhesive and the vehicle. Wipe on a generous amount of rubbing alcohol with a clean towel, and use another clean towel to remove the residue left behind by the alcohol.
Here's a question; one site that sold these moldings also provides another adhesive to put on the paint before applying the moldings which have the 3M tape. The place I got mine from only has the 3M tape on the moldings. Do you know if that will hold good and permanently, or should another adhesive be applied? I don't want these things coming loose and flopping around if they get wet or through high humidity etc...
The other is probably a primerto help the paint stick to the adhesive on the mld.Alcohol will work the same way to remove the wax and give you a pourous surface to stick to.
I just installed my new moldings today and they look great !
Blah, we just had a major cold front come through, pushed daytime temps back into the upper 40's, along with 40mph winds. Global warming, my @ss!!! The first time we see 60's and nice sunny skies, I'll put mine on. I really need them because the parking spaces over here are very narrow and people just open their car doors and don't really care about the vehicle next to them :frown5:
No Spring Break in S. Korea yet?

nomad60, Are you sure you are in ROK and not in Wyoming? Your weather sounds just like what I'm having in South Wyoming. I've been waiting to install new front door speakers on account of first cold and windy, and today on account of rain. And windy. It sucks having to work without a garage.

mach37,

Yep, South Korea. According to the local weather guys, this has been the coldest April in recorded history over here. This weather is killing me...the bass haven't even started to spawn...heck, I don't think they've even thawed out yet

My daughter calls it "The Batmobile."
I've had these side moldings on for about a month now and they are working out great . I feel much more relaxed about parking lots now .
Yesterday, someone dinged the heck out of the passenger side molding in our apartment parking lot with their door. I'm glad it was the molding and not my door that took the hit, but now my new molding has a big white spot where it got chipped
Ordered mine today!
