could anyone tell me what emissions equipment is required for my 83 fairmont in arizona? I have been trying to find an answer on the internet, but cant find anything, and i refuse to call the dmv as they would probably have no idea what i was asking about. i am trying to clean up as much as possible under the hood as it looks like an absolute rats nest!

yeah, ive always made it through, but i am curious as to what is actually required to be there, so i can get rid of what i need, ion hopes of shedding weight, and regaining lost power.

The EPA law states if the vehicle is equiped with certain devices, they must be intact. So if it came from the factory with the equipment it needs to be on the vehicle. And MA is the second strickest for emissions as they follow CARB requirements.

Don't know how the law's work in your state. But here in the Socialist State of Illinois. If your car is equipped with AV plates. You're exempt from emissions. This might be an option for you. At least it's worth looking into..
