First post in the F-series thread. well here it goes...

I have a 79 Ford F150 and am slowly restoring it. Other sites mentioned a replacement flareside bed? do they make a 8ft flareside? And if so how hard would it be to switch from a regular bed to this?

IIRC, Ford never made an 8 ftoot stepside model. If they did, I've never seen one. Chevy had one back in the day and to be honest, they looked pretty goofy.

Wow, thats interesting, i have never heard of that untill a couple of days ago. thanks for the info. I didn't see anything that says how hard it is to change over from a regular longbed tho.

It should be a just a strait bolt on. Ford drilled on the places on the frames where the bodies bolted on the same.

About the only folks who bought those were utility companies and the like. Oughta look great when you're done. You will definitely have the only one in town, until you build it, then you'll see the other three. That's my luck, anyway.

Agreed, thats how it usually works. Never see something until you have it.
